Chez Pim on Iron Chef this week, again
I've been meaning to tell you, my second appearance as an Iron Chef judge is on air throughout the week. Check out the schedule and see if you could catch one? I'd love to hear what you think.
Some dude on some blog wanted me off the show already. Ha. I guess I've arrived.
Eh, forget him. I finally FOUND your blog due to seeing you on Iron Chef and I'm very glad I did! They can have you back on as often as you like from my point of view. Great work.

Delighted to say I have seen you both times. You are thoughtful, have something insightful to say, which is appreciated. I even feel a little nervous as to what you will say. The pressure to comment on high profile professionals and to select a winner seems daunting and one has to have a lot of confidence. I am personally glad you are there. I first heard of your blog on Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie.

I was channel surfing and saw Iron Chef was on. Then I remembered your post from your first appearance. The second I switched to the Food Network, I recognized your voice! From your videos on this site! Anyways, I better get back to watching the battle!

You were definitely the best among the panel during the judging segment -- you made insightful comments in an articulate way, and balanced your praise and constructive criticism well.
As this is such a campy show, I would suggest "livening up" your look during the introductions segment. Cock an eyebrow, wink into the camera, affect a judge-like air, or some such to add to the overall zany atmosphere. As we all know, this is TV -- so the larger the personality, the better. In your case, don't change who you are, perhaps just add a small bit of spice -- as is best in all good cooking !

Go PIM!, I saw you, and you were fabulous! The other blogger, well, has he been on IC? No, I didn't think so. So, what does he know? :) I hope you get to do more tasting and judgement. On the 1st Japanese IC, I really liked the politician who kept on talking about how the food reminded him of his childhood!

We have been watching this show the past month and a half to see another friend, who was a guest chef on it as well, to catch up - we missed both shows! We did get a DVD of our friend so we were able to catch up and last night we caught you on TV. You go GIRL! You were great .... insightful, honest and very fun. We will definitely have to catch a few more of Chez Pim takes over the Iron Chef! By the way, how do you get on this show??

I have seen you both times on ICA and think your comments are very well articulated, thought out, and you aren't there to attack the chefs like some of the judges seem to be. Would love to see you on ICA more! I hope they invite you back (but not with Andrew Knowlton, I've seen him both times he's been on too, and don't like him at all! He seems to just want to argue with the other judges....gee, seems a lot like another ICA judge that is always at odds with the other judges :) ). Anyhow, we watch ICA every week, and love to "meet" new judges, and were thrilled to "meet" you and your blog through this season's shows!

I have been following your musings and I REALLY wish I could see you on ICA! I checked the Flay vs. Rios episode on our schedule. We unfortunately don't get to see the same shows up here, in Canada. Any way we can find out when this show should air?

I'm in the UK and so I am aware of Iron Chef, but not familiar with it. I really enjoy reading your blog and you seem to be on the same wavelength as me so I'm sure you are a good judge. It's so frustrating hearing about something you can't watch though, almost as much as reading about the strawberries on US blogs at the moment....

Pim, my son and I just now saw you on the 5 p.m. broadcast. We agree with previous commenters that you were by far the best judge on that panel! The woman who was on your far right is my least favorite of all the ICA judges. The Bon Appetit editor sitting next to you seemed amateurish, without much of a food vocabulary. You on the other hand were not only articulate but quite descriptive, bringing a real intelligence about food to the table. Anyone who thinks you don't qualify for that position must not be paying attention! We're hoping and looking forward to see you on future episodes and possibly on other food shows. Well done!

Being the Iron Chef junkie that I am, and also a pseudo-Web 2.0 blogger, I was stoked to see a food blogger as a judge on ICA. Flay vs. Rios...I only wish I could've been on the panel...I could have tomatoes fed by IV if there was such a thing. Rock on Pim!!!

One question: I noticed that the tomato episode had no dessert course. In the past ICA has always had dessert even if the ingredient was fish. Has this changed?

Battle Tomato should have been called, seduced by tomato powder! Karine Bakhoum is the homer judge, brought in to make certain Bobby wins. She is a NYC restaurant publicist after all. Bobby and Mario have been clients.

Thank you everyone. It was a lot of fun to do.
Dino, frankly the challenger Rios's food was truly bad. That battle wasn't even close in my opinion. His food didn't have any flavor, and didn't use the ingredients intelligently at all. With or without Karine there he would have won.
She was hilarious, by the way. I laughed so hard.
