I don't know where you are - but I wish I was there with you! It looks like there is actual summer weather occurring there. In London its colder than Scandinavia these days.
Could have been santa cruz area this past sunday (I think I see daniel patterson's excellent NYT mag article on the table)--the weather was superb in santa cruz, capitola and aptos over the weekend--particularly for usually foggy August.
Hi Pim!, love your blog. Just returned from paris and was lucky enough to find a little restaurant just off the avenue de champs elysee at 3 rue saint phillipe du roule. The restaurant is called l'arome and the chef is ex pierre gagnaire. The dinner menu is a mere 40euros for 3 courses and when you compare that to the many chain brasseries on the avenue is excellent value for money. the website can be found at www.larome.fr
I like the photo, sort of bay-area-mornings crossed with a Tecate ad. Seriously, I like the photo and I enjoyed the NYTM article as well. Its kinda reassuring to hear a chef in San Francisco gripe about expensive hand made foods.
wow - we have had a Summer of weather misery here in Ireland. Your picture makes me excited for the holiday i have booked next year (thailand). have you any articles on eating in Thailand or Melbourne where i am staying for a week?
Always good.
