EoMEoTE: omelette with softshell crabs and XO sauce

EoMEoTE - a spoof of a meme that has itself become a meme. This world is funny isn't it?
I've never participated in this before, preferring to take a back seat and enjoy month after month of eggy hilarity from down under. But this week I've got quite a fun eggy dish so I thought I'd play.
This was an omelette, a plain omelette cooked up with just salt and a bit of pepper and lots and lots of butter, topped with a sauteed softshell crab -happened to have a few lying round the fridge - and with many spoonfuls of Chinese XO sauce. The softshell crabs were tossed gently in a bit of flour, then salt and pepper and pan fried in - yes - lots and lots of butter. The XO sauce - which in fact contained no XO at all - was added at the very end, right off the fridge.
The toast was on the side. Was that against the rule?

Hi Pim
Mmmm, soft shell crab. Toast on the side is fine - hell, we've accepted toast on top before!! It's the ovoid thought that counts. One day I might even manage to get the roundup posted...

Lamanut: It goes without saying, no? If it hadn't been delish I wouldn't have bragged about it, ;-)
Andrew, no I'm not in Paris anymore. I'm back home in the Bay Area. Thanks for your compliment. Thanks to you too Sam, end of the month egg is always beautiful in my book.
emi, miscellany is a good word, random might be another one.
Anthony, phew, good.
Chocopie, frankly, I hadn't thought about it until then either. I was rather skeptical about if truth be told, but who could've said no to a breakfast someone else cooked for you on a beautiful morning?

Hi, pim
I have not imagine omelette with softshell crabs. I know a restaurant that is specialized in omelette. They sells various kinds of omelette using different food stuffs such as cheese, piment, mushrooms, etc. Of course, we have to line up to have it.

"on" is taken in the very broad sense of "in the general vicinity of"
The XO not containing any XO after all is a very nice twist, it's a bit like in the Crying Game when the beautiful lady doesn't have, oh wait that's not right ah well, looks yum.
: )
