My life in soundtrack

And so it happened -after so many years on the Dark Side- my return to the Light. Last week my new PowerBook G4 arrived, and on the same day I got my ipod and airport.
No, the ipod wasn't pink -the mini just wasn't big enough- so I consoled myself by wrapping it in a Robin's Egg Blue case. Just put a fraction of my CD collection in it, and it's already over 1MB, so I guess I am glad I didn't get the pink ipod.
And now that I am back in the Light, I wonder how I've been without for so many years. The PowerBook rocks, and the ipod -well you don't need me to tell you about the pod- I feel like the last person in the known universe to get one.
I've had the pod glued to my ears since I got it, my life now has a soundtrack, how sweet!

I should create the NIP League (No Ipod Possesors) but I'll probably find myself rather lonely...
You know, after the Internet, Dvds, cellphones (and all their little babies such as Wap and all) and iPods, I'm starting to feel like I'm in Dexter Laboratory or something. What's next? Pill Meals?(sounds good no, as in opposition to Pall Malls)
Not that I'm totally against iPods, really. As a matter of fact, I could use one since I'm gonna move to an island so I'd rather bring that featherweight object instead of a truckload of CDs.

i'm a recent mac convert, and i love my little ibook (couldn't afford the powerbook, plus, i don't really need that kind of machine). and my 20G ipod is with me at all times.
i used to be so anti-technology, but have felt the pull these past few years. i'm by no means a tech-geek, but i have way more gizmos than i need. have fun with yours.

i finally switched to only macs after straddling both a pc and a mac. i now trust and love my imac g5 and we have mike's powerbook when we need to be on the move. i don't have an ipod for myself - mike does and i am considering getting one soon.
yay to your crossing back over :)

I'm a long-tim Mac user. I grew up with Apples computers in my home. My Dad was a teacher and took advantage of the discount. I play around with linux here and there but OS X seems to find its way right back onto my hard drive. It's stable, beautiful, and SO easy. Welcome back.

Pink Yes - cherry blossoms, new born babies, floyd (early stuff, even then, but DSOTM was kinda cool and if you watch it with the Wizard of Oz but then that didn't really work).
Pink No - eye, slip, pod.
Welcome back and to the club.

I made the same switch as you in the summer and it was definitely one of the better decisions I've made...Except I went with the iPod mini, a big regret! You made the right move, hope you enjoy both!

I-Pod! I-Pod? Should I I-Pod? I now seam distanced from my stacks of CDs. Is that where the light went? Once they meant everything to me. Chasing after show after show; filling in missing tracts; cleaning up background noise–trade and burn–trade and burn.
So there they sit–do I I-Pod now? Thousands of hours of sound on little disks in plastic cases. I gave up making covers for them somewhere just past 150 boxes. Was that when the dark side captured me? The stacks just collect dust now–I haven’t changed the discs in my 5-CD player in months, or has it been years?
So you who hath returned to the light--which little music box, or better yet: which little I-Pod would you advise me to spend my money on? Nothing pink, please–I need to get back to the light, too! I think I need the music again. Much better than city sounds: 24/7.

Fantastic toys and great site too! I'm considering to buy a Powerbook and I would like to know if they work easily.
