One month ago today....

Those mad terrorists thought that they could terrify America into submission. Think again, I say. Our democracy will live, as vibrant and alive as ever.

I point to the people on United flight 93, who lost their lives when the plane nose dived into a field in rural Pensylvania, as exhibit one. Those brave souls exemplified what the American spirit is all about.

Fully comprehending their grave situation, they took a vote to decide whether or not to take back control of the plane. Even in their dire hours, democracy reigned. This trivial bit of news in the world full of so many other horrifying news still brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

They took a vote.

With a soul like this, we'll all be alright, won't we?
