Interesting news today on BBC.

Interesting news today on BBC.

Mir is expected to bring some mutated strain of fungi that have been growing rampant in the nooks and crannies of the space station down to our earth when it splashes down in New Zealand's water later this month.

The prospect of bringing to earth these new forms of life whose potential impact is simply unknown has troubled not the Russian government.

Responding to this concern, the Russian Space Agency "is not considering postponing the splashdown", which is expected on or around 20 March.

News update: The suspected case

News update: The suspected case of Ebola in Canada is not Ebola after all.
Only Lassa Fever.
Not as virulent, but almost as deadly and exotic.

Again we're lucky it's not airborne.

What catastrophe would it take before we can all understand that there is only one world after all? --and we are all stuck on it. Just because we live in America doesn't mean things in Aftica should be alien to our concern.

This time it's Lassa, what would it be next time?
Bon voyage, mes petits virus.
